Evidently the bootleg/mashup scene still burns overseas, rather than burning out. I suspect that, like 2-step, by the time it really takes off here, it'll have mere moments left in it. Then again, there's never a shortage of new and old fodder to put together in disgusting/brilliant manner. And the Grey Album brouhaha has certainly brought a new floodlight of attention to the style, if fleetingly.
My point is this: I can't stop listening to this mashup of Kelis's "Milkshake" with "Spinning Wheel" (not sure if it's a Shirley Bassey version or not). Evidently done by a San Diegan known as "Dizzy Bull," it's due for vinyl release (no doubt as an immediately out-of-print white label) in about a month.
